Alan Wright
I’m a qualified Mountain Leader/Guide and Outdoor Instructor
My outdoor business Wrightway Hillwalking is based in Dunblane just north of Stirling. So I’m ideally located for leading walks in the Trossachs, Ochil’s, Perthshire Hills and across the Southern and Central Highlands or further afield.
As a qualified Mountain Leader under the Mountain Leadership Training Board (the nationally recognised qualification for taking individuals and groups into the upland areas of the British Isles).
I hold an Outdoor Emergency First Aid qualification together with appropriate insurance for the activities that I deliver.
In addition, I am also an instructor and accredited assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, where I have supported my local high school on a voluntary basis delivering the award since 2012.
MY HILLWALKING & MOUNTAINEERING EXPERIENCE
I have been actively venturing into the hills now for over 25 years which has allowed me to accumulate an extensive knowledge of Scotland’s walking areas as well as other parts of the UK such as the Lake District National Park which I visit regularly.
During this time, I completed the Munro’s (Scotland’s Mountains of over 3,000ft) and am actively progressing towards completing a second round along with the Corbett’s (mountains above 2,500 to 2,999 ft).
My walking experiences have also taken me to the French Alps and Pyrenees, Austrian Alps, Canary Islands and Mount Barney NP in Queensland Australia.
I am extremely passionate to what the enjoyment of the outdoors in Scotland has to offer. Not just the hills and the mountains but other keys elements such as wildlife, flora, photography.
